Christmas Kids' Rooms Holiday Home Tour
It's a week until Christmas and the kids' Christmas vacation from school has begun. This year we took special care to decorate each of their rooms and I'd love to take you on a little tour.
First up is our youngest's room. She has our hand-me-down furniture which has been chalkpainted. We slept on this queen bed our first 17 years of marriage!
For the girls' trees we added 'snow' by pulling apart a snow blanket from Walmart. I love showcasing their special ornaments on their very own mini trees.
This room is so full of light and has my favorite view of our property. She is one blessed little girl!
My oldest daughter finally got her very own 'big girl' bedroom set purchased recently from Ashley Furniture. We deliberated over which one to purchase as we hope the set can follow her to college and even into her first years of marriage one day. She chose her own brightly colored bedding and it fits her personality to a T.
Charlie likes to spend time here too getting loads of cuddles.
We love having this tall chest of drawers with plenty of space for all of the pre-teen 'must-haves'. And again here we have another mini-tree adorned with her favorite ornaments. The shadow box contains a vintage key that her daddy gave her before a daddy-daughter dance a few years back. It signifies the key to her heart that her dad will hold until her wedding day at which point she will give her heart to her husband.
This cheery bathroom connects the girls' rooms and is complete with three sinks for all three kiddos.
Lastly, is our son's room which boasts of the loudest colors of the three. Although I typically stick to only white Christmas lights, this room is a welcome exception.
Though the master bedroom isn't a kids' room I thought I would include it on this second installment of our holiday home tour. Here is our glorious king sized bed! After 17 years sharing a queen with a 6'1" grown man, I have fully realized the meaning of a peaceful night's sleep! Since the mattress was itself a splurge, we went the inexpensive route and found this tufted headboard on Wayfair. It took quite a while to receive it but I love the way it brings just the right neutral touch to our room. Since we don't have a footboard I added this bench which doubles as a great spot to set the decorative pillows when we sleep.
This ceramic tree that my grandmother made many years ago serves as our room's tree. My youngest loves to arrange the glass birds each year. It is a special vintage touch to our room's decor that brings back sweet holiday memories.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Here's to a relaxing week before Santa flies in! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
